LED Light Masks

Can an LED light therapy mask help your skin? The answer is yes! LED light masks use different wavelengths of light to target specific skincare concerns. Blue light can help treat acne and reduce scars, and red light can reduce fine lines and wrinkles, as well as reduce inflammation. Using an LED light therapy mask helps your skin absorb product more effectively, and it is quite easy to do at home. Simply put on an LED light therapy mask 3-5 times a week at bedtime and leave it on for 10-20 minutes. Ensure you cleanse your skin beforehand and wait to apply any product until after you have finished using the mask.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy can offer numerous benefits while travelling. Scents like lavender, chamomile and bergamot can help calm the nervous system and promote relaxation. Essential oils can also support better sleep and help alleviate jet lag and the adjustment to new environments. Eucalyptus, tea tree and peppermint oils help with the immune system. Aromatherapy Assistance and Neal’s Yard offer travel-sized essential oil products that are perfect for travelling.

Face Masks

A great way to combat dry cabin air on a flight is by using a face mask. However, we might not all want it to be so obvious that we are using one. Several discreet face masks are perfect for use on a plane. One mask is a collagen mask. Collagen masks are great for hydration and soak into the skin, making them often invisible to the eye. Summer Fridays makes a face mask specifically for inflight. Their Jet Lag Mask doesn’t need to be rinsed off, making it the perfect choice for both long-haul and short-haul flights. Another option would be an invisible sheet mask that peels off easily.

Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy is the use of low level red and near-infrared light to improve cell activity. By encouraging ATP (adenosine triposhate), cellular energy regeneration, red light therapy reduces inflammation, promotes faster tissue repair, and offers relief to joint and muscle pain. A portable red light therapy device is essential for every traveller to help mitigate cabin pressure and altitude inflammation in the face and body, support immune function and recovery from confined spaces, and improve skin hydration, reducing obvious signs of travel fatigue. Use for a few minutes pre-flight to optimise circulation, in-flight to promote relaxation and minimise inflammation, as well as after flying to aid circadian rhythm adjustment to reduce jet-lag.

Mindful Travel Journals

Keeping a mindful travel journal helps to stay grounded while travelling. Acting as a souvenir scrapbook, a travel journal allows for active reflection during your journey and after. Documenting the daily or momentary occurrences from planning, expectations, arrival, departure and all of the moments in between can help a wellness traveller strengthen and maintain their travel goals, practice gratitude, and document aspects of the journey that worked or maybe could be improved. Journaling every day in the morning and in the evening allows for a full spectrum of understanding and mindful reflection abroad.

Aromatherapy Patches

Aromatherapy patches or stickers were originally developed for clinical use but have since found their way into the mainstream wellness market. they offer discreet, slow-release essential oil delivery for stress relief, nausea, anxiety, insomnia and revitilisation, without the need for supplements or the inconvenience of carrying multiple items while travelling. Their long-lasting effect provide a steady release of essential oils that gradually disperse over several hours all while being natural and noninvasive to the user and those nearby.
