Fruit and vegetables, fresh or frozen and a blender. These are the three main ingredients to buzz you to health. All to result in a smoothie.

It takes just a few minutes – the effects and nutritional value stay longer.  Purely select your own favourite fruits and veg and blend to target your own health challenges: a detox maybe, or a food supplement, a diet, a pick-me-up or to treat gut health.

A smoothie can each be packed with fibre, vitamins, minerals and other health-protecting substances. The healthiest ingredients to consider include dark leafy greens such as kale and spinach, nuts and seeds, berries and spirulina.

The liquid base for a smoothie is usually water but can be enhanced or replaced with coconut water, fruit juice,  plant milk or dairy products such as milk, yogurt or cottage cheese.

There are over 1,000 different species of bacteria in our gut. These micro-organisms support our immune systems, aid in digestion and optimise nutrient assimilation. A live and thriving ecosystem of intestinal flora through the foods we eat and drink.
