Mindful Drinking

Hang-overs, fuzzy heads, memory loss and that sluggish feeling. Is it time to review our drinking habits?

Are you partial to a glass of chilled Sauvignon Blanc – delicate and elegant. Or maybe it’s a gin & tonic, fine champagne or a cocktail. And of course, a second one, because it was so good… repeated every day?

Health and wellbeing is more important now than ever before. It’s time to be more mindful of what we are drinking and check our intake whilst still being on trend with the fashionable tipples on the market.

An aperitif, a lunch complement or partnering a dinner menu, there are now more choices and they’re healthier too! Non-alcoholic drinks are in vogue, increasingly popular, unique and in a class of their own. Rather than orange juice and mocktails there is a range of botanical blends ideally suited to sophisticated tastes.

I was attracted initially by the zany style of the bottle. Caleño seemed to salsa on the supermarket shelf. The label is bright blue with flashes of gold and orange which dance across it. A stylish addition to any refridgerator shelf or drinks cupboard. And what’s more, Caleño is sugar-free, sweetener-free, allergen-free and made with no artificial flavours and colourings. A new healthy addition to my regime.

I loved its delicacy, aroma and smooth blend. This unique fusion needs just a hint of a mixer, a slice of lemon all served over ice. Ingredients include the South American inca berry, balanced with pineapple, papaya, lemon peel, coriander seeds, lemongrass, juniper berry, green cardamon and peppercorn.

Caleño is zingy with delicate tropical botanical flavours – a welcome choice to the world of mindful drinking.
